RED ROCKS RWANDA EMERGED AS THE TOP EXCELLENCE ORGANIZATION THAT PROMOTED AND PRESERVED RWANDAN CULTURAL VALUES BY MINUBUMWE.

Red Rocks Rwanda is an eco-tourism company and social enterprise dedicated to community development, Cultural Promotion and preservation, and promotion of sustainable tourism.

Red Rocks Rwanda overall mission revolves around integrating cultural and community programs into tourism model, through providing local communities with opportunities to thrive while preserving cultural values and promoting environmental conservation. Through pioneering cultural tourism initiatives, the enterprise actively engage local communities in the tourism supply chain, and support their development as well as empowering them to help themselves.

The Social Enterprise  focus on developing community based tourism initiatives that respects, preserve and promotes Rwandan cultural Values and as part of its efforts, it support various community development projects that contribute to their sustainability through its Non-Profit sister organization sister organization, Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development

Founded in 2013, Red Rocks Rwanda is experienced   in cultural tourism management, where it offers Local, and Regional and International travelers with unique and immersive experiences that connect them with the Rwandan traditional culture and nature.

The Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE), in collaboration with Rwanda Cultural and Heritage Academy (RCHA), on 21st March 2025 honored top five districts from the 12th edition of Urugerero and recognized individuals and organizations which excelled in promoting Rwandan culture in the celebration of World Poetry day that took place at Intare Cultural Centre, in Nyanza District.

Urugerero: A tradition of service and unity

Urugerero is a national service programme rooted in Rwanda’s pre-colonial traditions, designed to foster national unity, patriotism, and civic engagement among young people through volunteerism and community service.

Top-performing districts were recognized across the country with the top five performers awarded for their dedication and excellence for their outstanding commitment to the principles of Urugerero, reflecting Rwanda’s dedication to unity, service, and cultural preservation.

Honouring culture promoters

Beyond recognizing districts, The Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE) also awarded the individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to the promotion of Rwandan culture were also awarded for their efforts to enrich the nation’s cultural landscape, ensuring the preservation and celebration of Rwanda’s rich heritage where the awards were presented in three categories.

During this colorful ceremony Red Rocks Rwanda a social enterprise of Mr. Greg Bakunzi emerged as the top excellence organization that Promoted and Preserved Rwandan cultural Values and was  awarded by Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE)

For last 12 Years Red Rocks Rwanda have been playing crucial role in promoting and Preserving Rwandan cultural Values  through Community empowerment programs that  focuses on enhancing the capacity of local communities to participate actively in cultural promotion and preservation while promoting social, economic, and environmental well-being the nature

The organization promoted Inclusive community Participation to foster sense of ownership and responsibility among the community members regarding Cultural initiatives.

Capacity Building the organization improved the skills and knowledge of community members for effective participation in cultural values promotion cultural heritage management, Preservation of their cultural heritage and identity that emphasized the local culture and traditions that helped them maintain community values.

The organization played a vital role in Social Cohesion since it empowered communities to foster social cohesion by bringing them together around common goals. The collaborative efforts of cultural promotion enhanced community relationships that reduced community conflicts among themselves.
